What is Stomp?

STOMP stands for Steps Toward Opioid Misuse Prevention. It offers Iowa County Extension offices a flexible approach to engage in community-based substance misuse prevention strategies at the level that fits them best.

Through this unique opportunity, we are offering free educational materials, free workshops, and ongoing support for planning and implementing your selected strategies.

  • We will help you select one or more of the following approaches and provide the resources needed to implement it in your county:Disseminating awareness-building information to audiences served and the broader community
  • Planning and engaging in one or more educational events or activities with community partners
  • Implementing a research- and/or evidence-based prevention program

Attend one of our regional workshops to be eligible to apply for funds to implement your selected strategies. We encourage you to bring community partners, such as representatives from law enforcement, schools, behavioral or public health agencies, community coalitions, or other groups. Workshops will showcase a variety of materials, educational displays, potential speakers, research- and evidence-based programming options, and other resources that you can use to make a difference in your county.
